Byrd Park is the largest of the three town parks in Snow Hill and situated on the banks of the Pocomoke River just off West Market Street.

Friday, June 15th - Meet & Greet & packet pick-up at Byrd Park from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm

Saturday, June 16th - Race Registration & packet pick-up at Byrd Park from 7:30am -8:30 am

What’s the deal with parking? 

Lucky for you, parking is free! When you arrive go directly to Byrd Park and then volunteers will be there to assist you in parking. We will have updated parking information posted on our Return to Goat Paddle Festival specific event page, as well as in Paddle Guru. Keep an eye out for the parking direction signs at Byrd Park!

What time should I arrive?

To give yourself enough time to park, check in, warm up, pose for pictures, and get ready to START, we recommend arriving 45-60 minutes before your scheduled start time

Where do I drop off my board, kayak, surf skis?

On race day, all competitors can drop off their boards at Byrd park.  There is a small launch to unload boards but the walk to the board drop in is not very far away.

Can I sign up on race day?

There’s no race day registration.  We are not staffed for onsite registration but if for some reason you have an add on or it was impossible for you to pre-register we will have that capability. 

Will transport to the turn around point be provided for Teams of 2?

Yes! Transport will be provided to the turn around point at Milburn Landing. Teams will be transported by bus to Milburn Landing. Immediately after the start of the 17 mile race the bus will load to Milburn Landing. We will also provide return pick up transport, but only after the last competitor paddles in. **Please note, it might be more convenient to drive yourself to the turn around point and park your car there, so that you can leave at any time. There will be plenty of parking available. We’ll cover it in more detail during the Elite racers meeting. Will there be merchandise available for purchase? 

You bet! Walk on Water and Evolve swag will be available for sale at a separate Booth located near registration tent on race day! There will be PFDs, leashes, boards, paddles, duds, etc. Come check out or demo the newest race board series, paddles, tees and gear!

Can I bring spectators? How much does that cost?

Yes! Absolutely! Spectators are FREE and there is no limit to how many you can bring!!

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Absolutely! You can also sign your kids up for the KIDS Race (for ages 7-12). Sign up for the KIDS Race at the registration tent on race day!  All Kid competitors must bring and wear their own leashes and PFD’s and all  Kid competitors will be racing the same boards provided by Walk on Water. Please note that we do not provide childcare, so any kids brought to the event must be under adult supervision. Kids race will be cut off at 14 registrants so register early at registration.

Will there be food available for purchase?

Yes! Most definitely! We bring in a local food truck legend plus a few new options for food this year!

Can I bring my own food and drinks? 

Yes! In fact, we encourage attendees to bring snacks, a picnic, or BBQ for race day. The park allows public alcohol consumption for events only, so please drink responsibly. 

What time is the Awards Ceremony?  

The Awards Ceremony will take place shortly after the last ELITE Course competitor(s) have completed their run through the ELITE 17 mile Course. It should takes place roughly around 2:30 pm.

Where can I find my results and photos? 

You can find your results under the “RESULTS” tab on Paddle Guru after the event. It may take up to 24 hours for full Results to be posted, but we’ll make every effort to have them uploaded soonest! An e-mail notification will be sent out to all participants once all of the photos are uploaded and ready to go!

Will there be rentals for the event?

Yes! This year, we we will be offering rentals for the event which will include race boards, all-around boards for both races, and surf skis for the 17 mile race. For more info or to reserve a board email info@walkonwatersupco.com. 

What do the winners get?

Aside from massive bragging rights, podium winners receive some EPIC awards along with a swag bag full of products from our sponsors. 

How much is the Kids Race?

The KIDS Race is FREE! All KIDS Competitors sign up on race day at the registration tent!

Are there age restrictions on the Kids Race?

To ensure the safety of everyone that participates, the Kids Race is intended for kids ONLY ages 7-12 years old. All KIDS Competitors will ride the same boards provided by Walk on Water.

What does my KID get for completing the KIDS Race?

All participants in the KIDS Race receive an EPIC finisher swag bag, a smile they can’t wipe off their face, and some pretty epic memories!

If my child is under 7 can I accompany them during their race?

The KIDS Race is intended for children ages 7-12 years old. At this time we are unable to allow children under the age of 7 into the KIDS Race with or without a parent companion.

Are there age restrictions on volunteering?

We currently allow ages 16 and up to volunteer.

Can I choose my volunteer role?

Yes! Definitely! There are a lot of different exciting volunteer roles to choose from, from helping with registration and packet pick-up, supervising the race courses on a SUP, helping out with the KIDS Race, water stations, taking photos, and much more!

What do I get for volunteering?
